Assertive Communication Skills

This training course can be of immediate benefit, enabling delegates to identify different styles of behaviour, increase their personal effectiveness, and develop greater confidence and a more positive self-image. Assertive communication can reduce tension and confusion, resulting in a more productive workplace.

A 1 day on-site course, for up to 10 delegates.

Course designed for anyone who needs to improve their assertive communication skills

Course Aims and Objectives

At the end of the course the delegate will be able to:

  • Identify the 4 communication styles
  • Know the 5 'must ask' questions to defuse tensions in a conflict
  • Analyse and plan: what to say and do before you confront anyone
  • Learn the 5 key assertiveness skills

The course will also encourage:

  • Putting assertiveness to work
  • Drawing the line with aggressive people
  • Unmasking passive/aggressive people
  • The development of Personal Action Plans to take back to the workplace to assist in everyday life.
